“Very unspectacular and a rip off! ”
We ordered the PEKING DUCK & DIM SUM set which was really below average. The most outrageous thing is that the we kept on waiting for the duck, not knowing that the duck meant was just 2 x 3 mm thin and 5cm by 8cm stripes of duck skin!!! We had a good laugh though. Paid hurriedly and left. Food is r...eally nothing to write home about.

“A place to give it a go but perhaps not repeat from the point of value for money.”
Having tried the xiao long baos of Din Tai Fung in Taipei and Funabashi, as well as Jindeinro in Sogo Department Store, Chiba, I had to try the xiao long baos from mainland China. I arrived at this restaurant originating from Shanghai. It was 11:30am and we were immediately shown to the last table. ...I ordered their Tantanmen set which is tantanmen noodles with four xiao long baos as I did in the other restaurants. The tantanmen came first. I was also given a Sichuan pepper pot. I thought that the tantanmen was the best of the lot. The noodle had strength and it was spicy enough especially with the added pepper. I agree with the other reviews that I didn't find anything exceptional about their xiao long baos. The total bill was almost three thousand yen for the two of us. A place to give it a go but perhaps not repeat from the point of value for money.

“Excellent dumplings!”
Nanxiang Steamed Bun Restaurant is a restaurant specializing in Chinese cuisine, located in Roppongi Hills. Among other options, the specialty of the house are the dumplings of various flavors to choose. The dumplings are quite tasty. The service is a bit slow and disorganized. The kitchen has a win...dow to the outside area of the restaurant; it is possible to appreciate the cooks preparing the dumplings. The prices are reasonable (credit cards are accepted) and the place, although a bit confusing and noisy, is pleasant. There are menus in English and the staff communicates in that language.

“Good chinese food in the midst of Tokyo”
Had the "shanghai crab" menu since it was in season. I like the ambiance, food and in general the cleanliness (compared to branches in China). Taste not compromised, service standards higher.

“2.5 out of 5 stars”
This was, at best, a very average Chinese restaurant which was more on the expensive side for lunchtime, averaging between 1,500-2,000yen. The food wasn't bad, but nothing really leaped off the plate at me. For a place that trumpeted it's dumpling, I found them quite mediocre. They are made on ...site though, so it was surprising that they weren't better. The food came quick and the staff was attentive. The menus have English, but English speaking staff is limited. My final thoughts, there are better places to eat in Funabashi. Price doesn't match the quality. If you really want excellent dumplings just bite the bullet and head over to Shanghai Joe's in Tokyo.
