Who knew one of the best tempura udon dishes I've ever had could just be a random hole-in-the-wall spot in Tokyo Station? Sure, it's very possible that I just haven't gone to a hole-in-the-wall super-specialty spot in other parts of Japan, but I was incredibly surprised by this place as someone who...'s been eating tempura udon for decades now—and admittedly, a lot of my comparisons are to Japanese restaurants in America. However, I just think the options at this restaurant taste really good. I went here with two other travel companions. I got shrimp tempura udon, someone got beef udon, and someone got chikuwa tempura udon. I have nothing but praise for everything I tried: the noodles are thick and tasty as I expect from udon, the broth has that excellent dashi flavor, the tempura is big and crispy, and the service I remember was good as I expect from a Japanese restaurant. I really don't have too much else to say. If you are a fan of udon, especially with tempura or anything like it, and you're planning on going to the Tokyo Station area, definitely consider Kamatake.

Inside Tokyo Station Sizable Tempura Udon  Chikuwa, tube-shaped fish paste cake Tempura is almost twice as big as typical ones. Slightly sweet and light !   Udon noodles are silky and a little chewy.  The soup (broth) is rich to season Udon noodles or tempura to come with.   The portion is g...enerous for women, whereas is less for men.  Due to the accessible location, the price is not low. The eatery is busy on weekdays since workers around here rush in and slurp Udon efficiently.

We randomly picked this restaurant in Tokyo Station. It paid off. It was really good! We ordered lots of different dishes to share.udon noodle soup, oden, fried chicken, tempura and their special beef ! Al good!

Tasted tasty udon and tempura at "Kamatake Udon Yaesu Kitaguchi", price was also very cheap, staff very gentle.

The udon noodles were delicious, coming with crispy and light tempura. The dish also came with a side of negitoro over rice. The meal was delicious, quick and convenient. The food comes out quickly and on a weekday the customers are primarily salarymen eating a quick lunch. Was a really cool exper...ience to witness how quickly people entered and exited the restaurant while we were there. I've never seen someone slurp noodles as efficiently as when I was here. Highly recommend stopping here for a great lunch!
