Negishi has become a go-to spot for our family when we’re craving something hearty and uniquely Japanese. Their specialty is grilled beef tongue, served in generous set meals with rice, soup, pickles, and grated yam. Our older child loves it so much that we’ve visited three different branches — in A...kasaka, Ginza, and most recently, Shinjuku. The Shinjuku location is located inside a business building near L Tower (close to Nishi-Shinjuku), and we appreciated that it was quieter than Ginza — we had no wait at all for dinner. The set meals are well-balanced, and even our 3-year-old enjoyed the grilled chicken option, which was softer and easier to chew than the tongue. That said, the seating across all branches is very tight, especially for families with strollers or shopping bags. While we managed with a folded stroller, it wasn’t the most comfortable. If possible, it’s best to come without a stroller and be ready to share a compact table space. There were no high chairs available at any of the locations we visited — possibly due to space constraints — but staff were accommodating. English menus are provided, and while not all staff speak English (Shinjuku staff knew some; Ginza and Akasaka relied on gestures), it was easy enough to order by pointing. Overall, Negishi is a satisfying, budget-friendly option that even kids can enjoy — just be prepared for tight quarters.

Without fail, I have to eat this. Though i arrived at hotel pretty late but barely made it to the restaurant before last order at 10pm. This branch didn’t taste as good as the ones in ikebukuro or takananobaba where I first had a taste of this(probably locked onto the taste here). Strange that it ...taste different but will try another to make sure. Free top up for rice so if you want to have a full meal to last, this is a good place to get it. Reasonably priced compared to other similar restaurants. There were several near the Keio Plaza hotel where I stayed.

Rice is free to help yourself do serving.so I was happy.The restaurant was comfortable.I want to go there again.

Our go-to place for beef tongue everytime we visit Tokyo. The beef tongue is cooked so well and the texture satisfying. A place we return to for dinner every trip to tokyo.

No pun intended in my title... this restaurant specialises in grilled ox and pork tongue dishes. For 2 ppl, we took 2 sets and it definitely was worth it. Price wise, nothing to be ashamed of but the taste was really good! If you are in shinjuku, that’s worth the detour.
