“Great food and staff, watch out for extra charges”
Went for supper tonight as we were in Shibuya and fancied Okonomiyaki. Very attentive and friendly service. Ordered food no problem from the English menu. What we thought were free “amuse-bouche” (some small plates of chopped cabbage in a dressing) arrived first. Main courses came shortly after, alt...hough one dish didn’t come out for a good 20 minutes or so. Beef tendon curry was the only item none of us enjoyed much (8 year son old wanted it). Chicken wing and prawn tepponyaki- only 1 piece of each which seemed a bit stingy. Okonomiyaki was fabulous though. I did complain about the chopped cabbage dishes as we were charged for them without being told before they weren’t free- it seems they give you these as part of the cover charge (but the waiter was good enough to remove them from the bill, bringing the overall cost down to just below 10,000yen). Good food but very overpriced (partly because of the area I guess in the new Shibuya Stream building). The waiting staff were excellent though.
