“Wow! Not just oysters! Amazing food offered as well!”
.My friend will need to attend to personal business on Day 4. As such, I have booked a full day tour on the same day to do some sight seeing and kill some time. Since I need to get up and be at the rendezvous place pretty early, for dinner, we decided to have something close-by so that I can head ba...ck to my place and retire early. Besides, it has started to rain. For a change of scenery, we decided to try out some seasonal Japanese oysters at an oyster bar in Roppongi. Three different big and chewy varietals were chosen, one of which was HUGE....the length of my hand! However, the surprise of the evening...or may be even my entire trip was what I had afterwards! Looking at the limited menu and trying to avoid some more gluten in my diet ( had too much lovely bread at Quintessence lunch time ), a ' Braised Wagyu Beef Cheek with Red Wine ' caught my eyes. Man! Did I make the correct choice. That fork tender piece of protein, with just the right touch of soft gelatinous tendons and bathed in a rich dark color, uber-delicious complex sauce was just heavenly! I am not joking but it can easily rub shoulder with Paris Josephine chez Dumonet famous Boeuf Bourguignon any day! Really THAT good!! Oh! BTW, to finish off another enjoyable meal and a great day, my friend and I both suffered from a mild case of diarrhea!!....may be those giant size oysters with giant bugs?! Oops!!

“AN OYSTER BAR WITH A GOOD PORK LOIN”
I was looking for a good meal and just happen to go in this one. I ordered the pork loin not knowing how much I would receive. A lot and the staff was great; very cordial to everyone, even those passing on the street,

“Poor service charges ! ”
Totally disgusted! Sat down at the bar ordered two pints and was charged a table service as much as the cost of a pint! If we had sat down for a meal I would understand but this is totally unacceptable and the manager did not care about how unhappy we were!

“Oyster and other seafood is fresh”
We have been about 7 or 8 times over the past 2 months, my wife and I. So it is good. Not great. Good. I hate, as always, the table charge. I, as client, should be getting a reward for selecting their restaurant, not punished for using their table. a bit of leftover food from the day before never ma...kes up for getting something to eat, I don't want , but reliefs a little bit the conscience of the restaurant owner or manager on the table charge. A person spending minimum 50 euro or equivalent should not be charges a table charge, certainly not a regular repeat customer. But again, fresh oysters ( remember to ask the oyster waiter not to clean the oyster with running water but to leave them in their natural juice) , very good mussels ( if clearly frozen), excellent side dishes. The ridiculous 2cl when ordering a drink, with a ton of ice, will always make me angry. In a country where 2 drinks sold to a client pays the entire bottle for the restaurant, it should be possible to poor something in the glass. Anyway, the place is good, it could be a lot better with some more real appreciation for the client, instead of just going through the motions. But that is what you get with franchises or chains. So a good place but one that makes you think what could be, if it was run with a heart.
