The food is so delicious and not pricy at all! :) The first thing you have to know about Japanese Izakaya is they have a table charge! But usually, they give an appetizer or a snack for that. The beer is cheap, and it's a great place to talk to Japanese people!!! I really loved the decorations! ...It feels like an old Japanese bar! Don't miss the Happy Hour! <3

This Izakaya is open 24hrs and was a two minute walk from our hotel (Peninsula) in Ginza. The staff were very helpful, spoke reasonable english, and offered great suggestions as to what to order (other than beer, which was a given !) There's seating outside if you want the watch the hustle & bustle ...of Tokyo, or seating inside if it's cold or you want to have a more intimate experience. It's 50's rock & roll type theme is reinforced by the waitresses uniforms and the music . Very fun experience, snack style menu, and reasonable pricing, (considering you're in the Ginza district ) ensures we'll stop by next time we're in town.

We slipped into this restaurant during a rain storm at peak happy hour. We were offered a table outside, but had to move due to the cigarette smoke. Inside, the tables are tightly packed, and the ordering system can be confusing because few of the employees speak English. For one thing, there is ...a 300 Yen per person fee during happy hour. There is an English language menu and specials on a chalkboard. We'd recommend ordering from the specials. In particular, the fried oysters were fantastic. Also recommended are the grilled beef dishes, as they serve Wagyu (not Kobe) and cook it perfectly medium rare. If you order a lot of drinks, the bill will add up. But overall it's a fun place for a quick meal, better than some of the high end restaurants we ate at. And we were the only Westerners in the place, so it felt like we experienced a tiny slice of authentic Japanese culture.

It was raining pretty heavily by the time we reached a JR line that we could use to get back to our hostel, so we decided to take shelter and have a break from the city with a beer in this little Izakaya. The one word in English that was spoken by the wait staff was "beer", and that sounded good to ...us. Like all Izakaya pubs, they charge a small "table fee" which includes both service and a small starter. Here, the small starter was a cold noodle dish with a few vegetables. It was nice enough, slightly sour, but not as good as some of the small dishes we got in other places for the same price. The beer was reasonable value, and it was a comfortable place to be. Despite being situated underneath a railway bridge (literally built into the bridge) there was no overhead noise either. Unfortunately, after leaving, I realised that I had left my water bottle under the table. I journeyed back, arriving about 30 minutes later, and the staff had no recollection that I was just there previously and had thrown my bottle away - which I consider quite rude, but I suppose it is my own fault for not being so diligent. It was incredibly difficult trying to explain I had just returned for my posession when they had no memory of me at all and kept trying to sell me beer, however.
