I was here for a business meeting, so that's why we didn't make any complaints about the food or deinks at the time. The bar is big, with space away from the main area looking onto the street and is in a good, convenient location near transport and shopping areas. The decor is good and very comforta...ble. The staff are very professional and polite. However, it is quite dark and the music is loud. It is also a horrible type of jazz music you'd expect to hear in a lift at a department store. I first ordered a beer which is made in Japan but supposedly to a traditional British style. It was only 3/4 of a pint but they charge for a pint and it was freezzing cold and had no flavour. Not the way to serve a traditional British beer. After that I tried a lager which was also supposedly a British style but produced in Japan. It was the same 3/4 pint with no flavour. We ordered some food after looking over the menu. They do an 'original fish and chips' which looked more like a sausage in batter served in a bit of paper. I opted for the traditional fish and chips and although the fish was nice, as you'd expect in Japan, the chips were skinny frozen chips absolutely drenched in salt. Later we had roast chicken but when it arrived it was in a cream, herb sauce with two Yorkshire puddings. You only serve Yorkshire puddings with beef, not all roast dinners. The chicken was fine but the sauce was wrong, not gravy and on the top of the chicken was what looked like a pat of butter. I tried it and it was a soft cheese. Why that was there is anybody's guess. There were no vegetables except what is jokingly advertised as 'mashed potato. It is in fact a dehydrated potato mixed with hot water, really unpleasant. It's not easy to mess up a roast dinner but well done to RC Arms for managing it. If it's a British pub I really can't get why they don't have any British beers as there are plenty available in Japan. For somewhere this expensive I would have expected a lot better. There was a nice atmosphere there but it is totally let down by the beer and food. I've been in Japan for many years and the British Pub thing just doesn't get anywhere near the real thing. I would rather go to a pub where they serve food and beer that they can manage. I won't be going back.
