LUXIS（ラグシス）恵比寿 AQUA RESTAURANT ＆ BAR

I made a birthday reservation for myself and when I arrived, the hostess was literally running from me. I even showed him my reservation on my email, which was in Japanese. I don’t speak much Japanese and I’m American so I’m not exactly sure if language was the issue. Nonetheless, I proceeded to ask... 3 other employees for help, and I was treated like I was talking to ghosts. Pretty much ignored. After about 20 minutes, I decided to leave and head back home because my birthday dinner was ruined. I’ve been living in Tokyo for almost 2 years and this was the ONLY bad experience I’ve had. I DON’T RECOMMEND this place if you’re a foreigner with minimal Japanese language abilities.

A very classy establishment with an overlooking aquarium. Drinks are fun with a crowd with a lovely ambiance. Perfect for work drinks to unwind

The worst restaurant i’ve ever visited. Keeping a sea turtle in a very narrow aquarium. You can feel the little buddy lost swiming with no aim. So damaging ! Not to emntion the food is overpriced and service is slow as hell. I wouldn’t recommend this sad place to anyone. Who needs to see beautiful f...ishes in cage while peeing. They belong to their natural habitat

This restaurant looks very classy and posh from the outside. However the marine like interior design doesn't help much. The lights are very dim and it's literally hard to move between the tables. Even the menu is hard to be read in such poor lighting. The food portions were very small and so-called ...Italian food turned to be an ordinary macaronis in some spicy sauce. The drinks only smelled with the labeled fruit names and seemed to contain no alcohol at all. Time waiting for the drinks to come was ridiculously long even with a few customers and bunch of free waiters wandering around. Really not the best place to have a romantic date or celebrate birthday party.

Visited Aqua Tokyo for a meal, after a recommendation, but were quite disappointed. The aquarium turned out to be only one wall divided into smaller windows (not all round as had been described to us), and was quite drab with few fish and very little colour. Water not as clear as it should be for s...uch a display piece. A large turtle looked out of place, and a bit cruel as the aquarium did not look big enough to support it properly. The restaurant service was basic at best. Being very dark, the place felt [nightclub] grubby and dirty - but hard to really tell. Typical hand/face towel on arrival was welcome. Food is Italian. Very common in Japan, but nowhere did we find it done particularly well. Only exception was the risotto - small portion but quite well cooked. As is not uncommon in Japan, we were seated near to smokers, and a trio of rather frantically loud young ladies - luck of the draw I guess ! Highly priced and hard to consider it good value for money. Go try some nice local cuisine somewhere instead.
