“Authentic, cheap, and yum!”
the ladies helped us out when we were unsure on what to order. the meals arrive promptly and are delicious. We had breakfast here every day for our stay! loved it! and its very well priced too!!!!

“Dinner at Yayoi”
You order from an automated machine at the entrance - you load the machine with your yen, choose your options, pick up your tickets and head in. The machine has English text and the menu is varied enough that you should find something you like. Food arrived in around 10-15 mins from being seated. M...y beef tenshoku (main, rice with free refills, miso and salad) was around ¥1,200 and a small beer less than ¥300; there were cheaper options on the menu if you are on a budget. My wife found the beef a bit on the fatty side, but was otherwise happy with her mixed grill tenshoku, also around ¥1,200. This place is no-frills but good value in my opinion. Shinjuku is generally pretty expensive, and this was a welcome break from paying through the nose for our tea. It's just up the road from Golden Gai and very close to all the Kabuki-cho hotels so pretty convenient too.

“24 hour restaurant serving very reasonably priced set meals”
Firstly, the menu is broad enough. So everyone will find something. To start, please insert coins or notes into the self-service machines at the front of the restaurant. Select your meal from the touch-screen panel and wait for the tickets to be printed. The find a table and hand the tickets over ...to the service personnel. You will be served and rice is refillable. I have eaten at Yayoiken many times and the quality has been consistently good each time. The price is also very hard to beat.
