BLT STEAK ROPPONGI

Popped in here for dinner as connected to the hotel. Firstly, serving a Yorkshire pudding as a bread roll with butter and salt to eat is very strange and not good at all. Steak was excellent, beautifully cooked but the mash postage had almost been liquified to get it so smooth so it had lost a lot... of the flavour. Margarita drink was not enjoyable which is sad given it’s my favourite, the balance of the mix was off. Staff welcoming and friendly but ultimately just felt like I was continuously being watched and therefore this ruined the atmosphere. Perhaps worth it for the steak, but wouldn’t dine solo again here and would pass on the cocktails and the “popover”

Food and service in restaurant was great. Bartender was terrible. Didn’t say hello and kept his back to us the whole time. Very rude.

Steak House BLT restaurant attached to the Villa Fountaine Royal Hotel Rappongi and quite good..negatives: white wine by the glass at 2,000JPY (16USD) barely covers the bottom of the wine glass..only specialty bottles of beer at 1,500JPY (12USD) i.e. no Kirin or Sapporo common beers...the onion ring...s were excellent..hamburger comes with French Fries, be sure to make a reservation as it can be fully booked.

BLT is not only know as an amazing steak restaurant but also the home of the American popover served fresh and hot to the table upon arrival. So proud of it they had a dedicated instagram page and give you the recipient on a little card should you fall in love and be inspired to cook them at home.... It’s engrained in the experience wherever I’ve visited BLT in the world. Unfortunately and shockingly. This restaurant cutting corners or being lazy cooked them by day and simply heats them up at night loosing all that brand magic. I can’t tell if this is an isolated restaurant or a sign of a global brand in decline but it was disappointing. Besides small mistakes like the wine being poured without tasting the steaks are lovely coming out on a cast iron skillet. I do find you need to eat quickly as the hot cast iron has two functions. It keeps your steak warm but also continues to cook your steak so if your slow cooker your medium rare tastes lovely on the first few bites but the last bites are medium. I find myself more cautious before choosing BLT again and I most definitely will give Japan BLT a pass until they bring back the brand experience. .

A fabulous meal! Our last night in Tokyo and we fancied something international. Staff were fantastic. Our steaks were amazing! The bread was so nice that we took the recipe to try at home - never done that before. We didn’t need the desserts but couldn’t resist - also delicious. Far exceeded our ex...pectations, and highly recommend a visit. When we revisit Tokyo, we will define return for another meal. We asked about the best place to get a taxi on leaving, and they accompanied us outside to locate a taxi for us. Service definitely above and beyond!
