We read that it is a must-try when one is in Hakodate, non-beyond the city or even Sapporo. So far it was long-q for the few outlets we visited (JR station, Goryokaku etc). And we finally have our try at the Motomachi-Bay Area for an earlier dinner (5pm). The exterior and signs of the shop were ve...ry lively, Clown marks & loud that is conspicuous from a distance, very unlike other burger chain like Mac, Mos etc. Queuing to make the order is the first thing and in this shortest q it was 3 person ahead of us, saw the Goryokaku one which snakes around .. Menu are all about burgers and some sides. We ordered a Chinese chicken burger, 1 fish burger and lucky potatoes, labelled as the most popular number one. It was another longer wait, about 15 mins for our meal to be presented, not exactly a comfortable wait as the area was quire cramped. Glad they tasted nice, and portion generous. The fries were also well done and we finished our course! We go for there free water, stays more healthy! Simple setup with retro-feel deco. Prices are good. Just outside the restaurant are vending machines, selling their drinks! We tried. Overall quite an experience trying out this dining experience. But I would not queue again for such long time to try their burger, when we return to Hakodate..

The environment is interesting and colourful. The swing seats are cute. You will feel going back to old time somehow due to the decorations and background music. Food is not expensive but in a big portion. The food tastes ok and is served quickly. Staffs are friendly.

It’s a place you can’t miss when visiting Hakodate. Scattered with branches around the city, we tried the main branch. All of them have a very Stephen King vibe which is sort of cool. We ordered the recommended Chinese Chicken Burger and were not disappointed! The meat is super fresh and crunchy, t...astes quite different from the regular burgers. The fries were not that great (comes with the set menu). We also tried the pumpkin croquette which was very nice. The place is cash only. PS: to the lady below who was complaining about being told off for sitting down before having ordered- there’s a (very visible sign) at the entrance which says- please place your order before reserving a table. Considering that many look for one of the window seats, the policy provides for some fairness and should be followed.

I am totally dissapointed with the cashier lady who is very rude to me and my mother. Because my father is in the queue for ordering the drinks for us, we thought that we can sit inside first while waiting for our drinks to come. Suddenly without knowing, the cashier lady screamed at us say “no sit...” no sit a few time with very impolite gesture like customer is being asked to go away. Me and my mother who are waiting for our drinks are taken aback and soon stand up and not dare to sit there as it is very embarrassing to be shouted so impolitely like that in front of others customers. everyone is also look at us. It is truly unprofessional for staff to behave like that. I will appreciate the staff greatly if they inform me properly without shouting to me and my mom like that. Secondly, when my father ordered drinks there, they are so behaving rude as they don’t speak English, they say no no we don’t have that.. “very rudely” . I mean hakodate is a tourist spots and I don’t expect everyone of them to speak English but I thought the culture to behave polite to customers is basic to everyone who is in service industry. I really hope that they can change this very rude behaviour

There are about a dozen of this chain in HDate. The one one water near the Red Sheds is where went. There was another 100m away over the road. I had a Shrimp / Prawn burger which was good. They are heavy on the Mayo ! The other burgers on our party were good though not exceptional. Fries the same.... There are other non burger meal available. The place is fun and retro American style. Prices reasonable. A nice change from Ramen and sushi when needed
