“Excellent eel in Sapporo. ”
Excellent eel is served at this famous Sapporo restaurant. That’s all they serve and it is good. The servings are not huge and it’s not cheap, but a nice treat. I picked the mid size portion and it was plenty because it is quite rich. The venue is good and staff and service pleasant. Parking for 3... cars in front.

“Delicious char-grilled eel !!!!”
Futaba is the famous eel restaurant in Sapporo. If you are eel lover or want to try something beside seafood or beef , I do recommend to try char-grilled eel at Futaba. This restaurant is in residential area of Susukino not in downtown so it is not easy to find out. Take a taxi is the best way . Any... way you can go by subway or street car and follow street south5 west 7 and you can see the restaurant sign in Japanese so you have to recognize the character , finally the grey 3 storey building is there. They had the English menu but I recommended " Unaju" size L ( grilled eel on the rice with origin sauce in the box). They served in lacquered box ,huge , shiny char- grilled eel, thick with moderate fat. Very delicious !

“Good,but not fantastic”
The restaurant is in a little corner just behind paco susukino hotel. The 2/F is tatami seating while the 1/F is western seating. The unagi was nicely charred, but for those expecting the thick,sweet sauce found on other unagi shops,you will be disappointed. The sauce for the unagi is lighter, more... shoyu-like with perhaps a dash of wasabi. Its not bad,but different. We also tried the eel liver yakitori. It tastes great with rice,but a tad saltish without rice. The eel bones were alright.. tastes like crackers, nothing spectacular. Overall,it still can't beat the unagi restaurant at matsumoto. Prices are a little on the high side,but not exorbitant. I won't go again, but I don't regret trying it either.
