This was our first experience with the famous Sapporo curry-style soup- we were not disappointed. Our server was very patient with our lack of Japanese ordering skills and made recommendations when he could. I think this turned out to be one of the best meals we had in Japan - it was so flavourful. ...Please keep in mind that we're first-timer to curry soup but we were blown away. There was so much variety in everyone's bowl. We were so lucky to find this place - it is a meal we'll always remember fondly. Thank you!

Our sausage and f...ried chicken soup curries were both good. Level 3 (of 5) spicy level was fairly spicy (very spicy by Japanese standards), but none of the taste was lost. Ordering is done on an iPad, which is bilingual Japanese and English. Service was fine.

If you aren't local and speak any Japanese, there's a good chance you might open the restaurant door to ask for a table and possibly be met by a slightly big man in glasses waving you out saying something akin to "no no" in English and be confused if you offended those insider the restaurant by open...ing the door or should you walk away and go to another. Service isn't what you come here for. Let's say that our group gritted out teeth on the cold outside for 20 mins, to the left of restaurant door (I suppose to facilitate the 12 seated diners inside leaving but weren't exactly doing that in an exodus). Two young Japanese ladies came by, saw us standing outside the restaurant and simply joined the "queue" behind us. Japanese civility at its best. Now the Product: probably the tastiest soup I've ever tasted. Full of rich spices and flavour, I wished there was more of the broth served (but that's just me). Served with turmeric rice, this is one Winter comfort food you must have and Picante's should be one of your top 3 go-to places. Hint: The restaurant retails its souvenir soup curry pack for exactly the same price as at the Chitose Domestic Terminal (before immigration) shops. The latter ones have a longer shelf-live. Pick some, pack into your suitcases BEFORE checking in the suitcases, this is a lot of liquid/paste and not allowed onboard the plane.

It was pretty nice place for soup curry in SAPPORO. Very Good food, good service and very busy with lots of customers from locally and visitors.

Make sure you ask for an English menu when you arrive! Food is very good, I went for a regular heat medicinal curry, with the garlic lamb. Packed loads of flavour and sorted out my flu too! Best enjoyed with a stein of Sapporo beer. Great service, would visit again.
