和食処 ゆずり（禅）

It's almost impossible to find this traditional Japanese cuisine eatery, without knowing exactly where to go. In fact, it's well hidden at the end of a corridor in a block overlooking National Rd 40, nevertheless in a central position in Abashiri. Even once you have reached the entrance, only a very... simple banner reporting the name of the restaurant “Yuzuri”, and only in Japanese, gives a clue that we are entering a place open to the public, and not a private home. The restaurant also has limited seating, so we, being six, were barely allowed to sit. But once seated, all the difficulties are forgotten. We delighted ourselves with traditional dishes, which are also quite unusual. In particular, my wife and I chose respectively shrimp salad and fried chicken, and a scallop porridge (the word “porridge” is obviously a questionable adaptation of the Japanese term). Not only that: as an appetizer to these ordered foods, everyone was served soy puree, and peperonata with chicken. We therefore left this eatery delighted.
