“Great service and view. Yummy food nice to experience at least once.”
Excellent food, presentation and service. The view was amazing in the evening. They explained how to eat some of their foods since I had no idea. Food came out one course at a time with minimal time between courses at my eating speed. But it could be fast for some people, it was just right for me. P...lace looked pretty classy but they treated me well even though I was dressed pretty casually.

“Foreigners are not welcome at this place ”
Even if the Menue is translated in English and Korean it looks like foreigners are not welcome at this place. We took the same menue as the Japanese guests next to us, but we were really rushed through it. There was a young waitress who seemed to be really embarrassed to see it, but her supervisor p...ut everything at once at our table. I am sure, the food might be good, if you have time for each course and know, what fits together. After years of traveling to Japan it is the first time where I have to say: don‘t go there, you are not welcome.

“nice view at night”
Nice restaurant with good food for sure. But the main point of going there is the view on the Tokyo Tower. I would recommend to go there at evening. You can eventually also go there to see the sun set according to the season if the sun is in the correct direction.

“Excellent Yuba-oke”
Shozankaku is also on the 11th floor of JR Kyoto Station Isetan. For dinner, we chose the recommended "Yuba-oke Course" that was just under 5000 yen per person. Each dish was of a good standard and included the usual sashimi, stewed vegetables, tempura, etc, but the one that stood out for me was t...he Yuba-oke. Yuba is bean curd skin or the dried residue that has been skimmed from boiled soy milk. It is chewy and wrinkly, and is an acquired taste. The Yuba-oke dish is served in a wooden pot with the Yuba swimming in soy milk. It is actually rather tasteless and needs to be dipped in soya sauce to be fully appreciated. The Wan Mono was really a giant fish ball in a bowl of clear soup, and hidden beneath the yummy stewed vegetables was a delicate but delicious morsel of fish. Dessert was only slices of orange but they were nice and sweet. This is a restaurant serving good Kyoto dishes at reasonable prices. Check out their lunch bentos too.
