京懐石 美濃吉 本店 竹茂楼

今天晚上，我们一行四人在日本京都的竹茂楼餐厅用餐。这是一家拥有310年历史的老字号名店。菜品精致美味，摆盘极为考究；餐厅自酿的清酒口感上佳，由家族传人亲自酿造。店内全是独立包间，舒适又私密，包间外竹林环绕，格调雅致。餐厅设有三个陈列柜，珍藏着数百年间收藏的各式精美餐具。服务热情周到、分寸得当，体验十分舒适。第十代传人佐竹由纪（Yukiko Satake）女士还亲自与我们亲切交谈、为我们斟酒。离店时，餐厅为每位客人准备了伴手礼；恰逢外面下着小雨，还贴心为我们每人备了一把雨伞。 English Translation This evening, four of us had dinner at ...Takenomiro Restaurant in Kyoto, Japan. It is a time-honored restaurant with a history of 310 years. The dishes are exquisitely prepared and delicious, with extremely elegant plating. The sake served here is also wonderful, brewed by the restaurant’s heir. The entire restaurant consists of private rooms, which are cozy and intimate. Bamboo surrounds the private rooms, creating an especially elegant atmosphere. There are three display cabinets showcasing a variety of exquisite tableware collected over the past centuries. The service is absolutely warm, thoughtful and appropriate, making guests feel very comfortable. Ms. Yukiko Satake, the 10th-generation heir, came out to chat with us warmly and even poured sake for us. When we left, the restaurant prepared a souvenir for each of us. It was drizzling outside, so they also provided each of us with an umbrella.

Had a lovely experience at this restaurant. We had a private dining room overlooking a small lovely part of a zen garden on tatami floors. We were served a traditional Kyoto kaiseki meal with a New Years menu. Everything was absolutely delicious and the staff if very welcoming and friendly. Would r...ecommend for an escape from hustle and bustle of Gion. It’s within walking distance of a station also.

So delicious and very traditional, you will experience the best taste of Japanese food. I met a young waiter who could speak English very well, thanks for the compliment.

We went to Kyoto in mid October to celebrate my birthday and we picked this restaurant to have our first ever Kaiseki cuisine. The restaurant looks very traditional Japanese style, decorated with bamboo and lots of paintings. We have made the reservation online and didn't expected that the staff gr...eet us at the entrance at the front door. They guided us to the traditional Japanese room to start the dinner. Since we have mentioned that we don't want to have salmon in our dinner, so the server once again confirmed our request. The restaurant provided us written mean in Japanese. Our server is a mid-age experienced kind lady, who explains to us different dish and how to make it and the history of Kaiseki in English. We feel the dinner was so good, of course, still quite pricey, but at least they do everything right to make sure you have got what you are expected. I would come back again to celebrate another memorial date, if we travel to Kyoto again.

My daughter and I ate here as it was a top recommendation for a traditional kaiseki dinner. My 5 star recommendation is for the food and service. The food was amazing. We were so impressed. Be prepared to pay handsomely, as this is very expensive. Likewise, the service was on par with any Michelin s...tarred restaurant. Because it is so expensive, there are only a couple people there at any time. You sit in a room alone and it is dead silent. The air is likewise, very still.
