ピッツェリア・ラ・ポルタ

Never mind the strange name of the restaurant on Tripadvisor...it's called La Porta. This is an excellent Italian restaurant that deserves to be known by more visitors to Osaka! The place can be a bit difficult to find, as it's located underground in the Higobashi Center building (Higobashi Dining).... Once you're in the restaurant, you're happy you found it! The staff is attentive and friendly! Although there's only a menu in Japanese and Italian, the staff is happy to translate and recommend the day's specials. The food is excellent: crunchy, fresh bread with great olive oil, tasty antipasti, simple but impressive pastas and pizzas with really good ingredients that go decidedly past what a normal Italian restaurant in most places in Europe serves. La Porta also brought us the best Spaghetti Carbonara we ever ate! Which was surprising as we definitely have tasted many outside of Japan! Then, all this with a few wines, salad, dessert and espresso for not even 30 euros per person makes it all a real bargain. What can we say? Go and visit!
