The Kitchen Salvatore Cuomo KYOTO

I love the quattro formaggi pizza here. The wine by the glass is excellent too. It’s one of my go-to spots when meeting friends in Kyoto, always a satisfying experience.

Exceptional food and wonderful staff who accommodated all our wishes. Wine selection was great too! We ate some starter salads which were excellent but the pizzas were yum. So good we kept ordering more!

Upper end Italian restaurant, part of a chain, on 10th floor of JR Isetan department store. Very good food and service with a wonderful view of downtown Kyoto. Recommend pizza and spaghetti. Acceptably priced wine. We’d definitely visit this restaurant again. Reservations recommended to avoid a wait... to eat (available through Trip Advisor website).

We were with a family of five. We hadn't a reservation but after some waiting we were seated at a table with beautiful view over Kyoto Tower. Nicely decorated restaurant, the food and the pizza's were good. Very friendly and polite staff members, they did their best to make us feel welcome.

Our hotel recommended this and admittedly we were there the weekend before the World Rugby Cup playoff weekend. That said the place was filled with groups of 4, 6, 8 men drinking beer and the noise level was off the charts. Our server was a young Japanese woman who did not know how to open a bottl...e of wine (never mind bringing the cork to the table) and with whom we could not really discuss the menu. The view of the night skyline is nice; but the place is not inexpensive and the food (I had spaghetti bolognese) was so so. My husband and daughter each got a pizza and said it was fine, but not exceptional. I would give it a pass.
