おすすめします。 料理も雰囲気もサービスも良く、丁寧な接客で高くない。 京都らしい野菜やお麩を使った料理もよかったです。 またぜひ伺います。 Highly recommend. Nice food, good service, affordable prices. Hidden gem. Definitely go there again.

“Satisfied”
The food is good, especially namafu. As a Japanese, this Japanese foods are very good and I was satisfied to eat foods here. The customer service is perfect. Clean, organized, gorgeous place. If you want to eat Japanese foods and experience old-school Japanese restaurants, you should go here.

“An unusual evening out”
We had a hard time finding Osen even with a GPS; it's tucked away on a charming street, so we arrived 15 minutes late for our reservation. . It had been recommended by a friend as her favorite Kyoto restaurant. We were warmly welcomed and seated at the far end of the counter next to the wall. I want...ed the chef's kaiseki dinner but my husband was not so hungry, and the minimum for kaiseki is two, so we ordered a la carte. Each dish was tasty and some were very unusual. The lovely young woman who served us spoke English, but we never felt at ease. Conversation was lively all around us, jokes flew, but we felt like outsiders, hough during the evening two other customers made a point of speaking to us, which we appreciated. The chef, who was conversing with others as he worked, never glanced at us. It was interesting watching him, though, as he skillfully prepared dishes. I would have liked the kaiseki and maybe one day I'll go back to try it.

“Amazing experience ”
Our last night in Kyoto and after a week in Japan we found this little gem, thanks to TripAdvisor. We hade been wanting to try kaiseke but they are all pretty pricey and we had already lashed out on some expensive dinners. This place had some good reviews and looked nice, so we managed to get a boo...king for the four of us. It’s a little hard to find in a back side street off the main Gion strip, and there is literally no English on the outside of the restaurant to tell you what is there. We were the only non Japanese in the restaurant but the hostess made us very welcome, and with English menus helped us choose a set menu. What an experience- the restaurant is very traditional with a wooden interior, some booths and a bar with stools, behind which the chef prepares all the food. At 5500 Y a head plus drinks this was amazing value as the succession of beautifully prepared and presented dishes came out. The chicken, simply cooked with a small salad, was incredible, as was the pork belly, tempura prawn and pretty much everything. Really can’t speak highly enough of this wonderful spot. The hostess and chef both saw us out, almost the last customers, and waved us down the road. Outstanding!!
