“Authentic, excellent French cuisine”
We are fortunate to have travelled extensively in France over three decades and we have been delighted to find this slice of France in Umeda! The food and service have been impeccable on the two occasions we have lunched at Malmaison. French haute cuisine outside its home country is often outrageou...sly priced and Malmaison's a la carte doesn't buck this trend. However, their table d'hote sticks with the principle of offering excellent value and is highly recommended. 4,000 Yen is quite a lot for lunch but you can be assured of an excellent lunch...filling too (unless you're a sumo wrestler). The wine list is entirely French and priced as a luxury item. But, ask the sommelier to go 'off piste' and they'll raid the hotel's cellar for a wider and more sensibly priced selection from other countries. For sure we will return when next in Osaka.
