I wish I had read the reviews before visiting this okonomiyaki restaurant in Osaka. Sadly, my overall experience was not positive. We waited around 30 minutes for a table for six after finding this place online, only to be seated at a table really meant for four. The restaurant promoted a Michelin ...mention, so our expectations were high, but the food turned out to be fairly average. I had imagined watching a chef cook at the counter, but instead a female staff member who seemed unhappy prepared our meal without a smile or any sense of hospitality. What left us most disappointed was the treatment we received during our visit. After part of our group finished eating, we were asked to leave even though others were still dining. As Asian visitors (from Hong Kong, the UK, and Australia), we felt we were treated differently because of our appearance, which made us feel unwelcome. Fortunately, this was not the case everywhere — other restaurants we visited in Osaka were wonderfully friendly and welcoming, which highlighted the contrast even more. Overall, the rushed atmosphere, lack of warmth, and cold service left us with a poor impression. I would not recommend this restaurant to other travellers

What more can I say .. just the best Okonyomanaki you will experience . Yes , they are busy but the bad reviews are unwarranted .. this is what you came for and the food is sublime . One thing .. the queue was closed off at 8.30 so be early

My partner and I visited this restaurant late at night, and we were likely the last group to enter. Although the wait was long, it moved relatively quickly, so we didn’t have much to complain about. The signature okonomiyaki, which features mountain yam, was one of the most unique versions we’ve ev...er tried. However, the yakisoba was just okay; we’ve had better at other places. The reason why we can't recommend this place is because of the service. We encountered a rude attitude from our server. My partner was still eating and drinking her beer when the server started trying to clear our table and pointed at his watch, saying, “Many, many people.” However, there was only one group left in the restaurant. I felt alienated, and this was the worst service I’ve experienced in my 12 years of visiting Japan. It's hard to put into words especially when the culture is very respectful but we didn't feel that way. As good as the okonomiyaki was, I would skip this place and wouldn’t recommend it to anyone. There are better options elsewhere. I simply can't ignore the rudeness I have felt from the workers and we can speak Japanese. We simply didn't understand what was happening and it ruined the rest of our night in Osaka.

The savoury Japanese pancake was amazing. The food was scrumptious and made in front of you. There’s a bit of a queue at around 7pm so try coming a little later to avoid.

It’s an excellent place with a long queue and a string of Michelin awards. Your order is taken in the queue. When I went to sit down my okonomiyaki (Japanese pancake) was already on the grilling iron. When the chef eventually turned it over - it was burnt. Words were exchanged between the staff and ...I was politely asked if I wanted noodles on it (I ordered it without noodles) and I declined. Sauce was then slathered on it and I ate it. Maybe I should have refused. In any case it was a disappointment. But the place seems good. I told the lady that my okonomiyaki was burnt on the way out - paying and she apologised. Please don’t serve customers burnt okonomiyaki!
