after walking miles to tour Kyoto we were exhausted and then ran into this place and instantly we settled into it, and found out its excellent tofu cuisine, so delicious and enjoyable, all of tiresomeness were gone. love the food and attention received, love the setting. it is top!

We were hungry while sightseeing nearby. We ran into this tofu restaurant with a cute traditional Japanese garden. The lunch course of 10 items were all delicious! The menu was in English, so we could tell what we were eating. The hot pot was at first overwhelming, but once we learnt how to eat ...tofu from it, we just enjoyed our time there. The serving staff could speak limited but enough English. It was a hot day, and AC worked like a charm. The only thing I did not like was that the staff told us not to use the restaurant's power source. I wanted to charge my iphone. I am not sure what the big deal was by plugging my iphone into one of their outlets... Alas, 4 stars.

The Tofu in Kyoto is some of the best I have had, so trying a fully tofu restaurant was a treat. It was only by chance that I found this place here on tripadvisor. I stayed nearby for a few night , and was looking for a restaurant close to there, so got the hotel to make a reservation there. This p...lace is famous in Japan for the tofu cousins, as a Japanese couple to me , and I can understand why. The served tofu , in different styles and textures. Highly recommended.

This was an experience I'm very glad we had. Kyoto is known for its tofu and here we sampled every type in an 11 course tasting menu. As the photos show, the presentation was delicate and the menu was in English, so it wasn't a problem to know what we were eating. The best dish was the tofu with mis...o glazing. Make a reservation, since they will book a private room for you. For those who are true vegetarians or vegans, make sure to tell them that you don't eat fish flakes (in the bonito) or crab. Tourists who don't come here miss out.

It is not easy to find a specific restaurant in Japan because of the different characters western-japanese. We were walking in the traditional route of Temples and we have found by chance this restaurant. Tofu degustation!!! Some presentations are fantastic! If you like Tofu this restaurant must be ...a cult! At 9.00 pm they close so please be there at 8.15 maximum because later they do not accept ordination!
