“Very good Spanish for Kyoto”
Food is very good; service is great and a nice wine list which is reasonable priced. Would eat here again. A nice selection of Tapas which reminds me of true Spanish experience. It's on the third floor but well worth the walk up.

“Quality Spanish Food in Kyoto!!!”
In our last night in Kyoto, we were a bit sick of Japanese cuisine and wanted to try some of the city's other culinary offerings. So after checking out the highly rated Italian restaurant that sits directly below Figueres, we decided to give this place a shot. Figueres is an authentic Spanish restau...rant sitting in the heart of Gion in Kyoto! We had better Paella here than on our recent trip to Spain! In fact, except for the fact that the whole waitstaff was Japanese, it was hard to tell that we were in Japan and not in Spain! I am not sure why this restaurant has no reviews to this point, but it is worth going to. I give it four stars and not five because although the food is great, the portions are quite small. For example, the Paella we ordered cost about $40.00 and was not enough food for two people. Same with apps and dessert. The service was very good. I included some pictures so you get a feel for the place. Worth a visit if you want a change of pace in Kyoto!
