“Tasty traditional fare, with seating that accommodates western knees”

As is common in Japanese restaurants, we entered via a long narrow corridor, removed our shoes and proceeded to a dining room with lovely fresh flowers in every nook. The restaurant served a wonderful 8 course meal, consisting of appetizers, fish, pork and a delicious red miso soup (a first for me).... Although we sat on straw mats, we could place our legs under the table, making it easier to rise at the end of the meal. Delightful.
