This restaurant came up as recommended on TripAdvisor while planning my day trip to Uji. I am so glad I found this place because it is delicious! The cold soba matcha noodles are unbelievable... You can order them by itself, or with rice and tofu skin, or with a mini dessert too. The matcha parfait ...is also to die for... LOVE the gift shop too. I will be back!

This matcha shop is very close to Uji JR station. It was very easy to find. The shop itself is a heaven of matcha goods, I was enchanted by it. Further inside there is a cafe, and I wanted to eat a matcha sweet. I got myself a matcha parfait and it was delicious! The staff consisted mainly of girls ...and they were very kind and attentive. I highly recommend this place.

The noodles set is good, but the dessert is my favorite. The Matcha biscuit is crispy and smell good. Most of the local only order dessert there, is very sweet though. The shop have a lot of omiyagei/souvenir and make sure you check the expiry date, as they made the date short to ensure good qualit...y.

Had the most gorgeous meal here! We ordered the matcha soba noodle set, as well as a sweetened matcha latte. As someone who has never been a fan to give it a proper go because of its bitter taste, definitely give it a second chance! Absolutely loved the experience. We had to write our names and wa...it to be called for a spot in the cafe, but it was certainly worth it, and there was a cute little Japanese courtyard within which we could relax whilst waiting. The meal itself was delicious, and came with a cute little tutorial as to how to experience all the nuanced flavours, enhanced by the tencha leaves and lime. The matcha latte was also beautiful and a generous serving. Compared to other places in Japan, not the cheapest meal, but definitely worth it for the experience and the quality. If stopping by Uji, visiting should be a priority!

The place was relatively crowded when we entered and we had to put our names down to get a place in the queue. Waited for approximately 30-40 minutes but time seemed to pass quite quickly since we could shop around the store for matcha souvenirs while waiting. The parfait was delightful and I imagin...e it would be even more so eating it on a hot day in summer!
