Its pretty expensive, but worth it. It's a hidden local joint, unassuming entrance with fresh eel grilled on the spot. Ordered the 2/3 eel on rice set (2900yen) and tamago (forgot how much). Staff speaks little English but menu with pictures is sufficient to order. I love unagi!

Located over 3 levels but in a narrow building On the ground floor there is counter seat and and kitchen with see through glass where we can see the chef grilled the eel like in a smoke house We were seated in 2 nd level with tatami . Waitpersons cannot speak much English but there are English me...nu. We like the full eel on rice with sweet sauce . The eel without sauce ( lighter colour ) has a more of original taste . Don’t like the eel liver that much . The set menu where you eat the eel 3 ways I.e. first eat just the eel , next eat eel with condiments and lastly pour soup over it to eat . We like that too Cost about ¥9000 for 3 people Good and interesting experience

Uoi rice set is very good. Price is acceptable, and quality is very good. Service is nice even with kids.

We visited their Tengo store with 2 floors. The 2nd floor is the smoking floor & the 1st floor is non-smoking with bar seats and you can see the kitchen where the unagi was grilled. We ordered 2/3 cut Unaji for each and we hardly finished due to the big bowl. The unagi taste good and it taste abit l...ight as those i had in town. They also have a take out booth in the restaurant. Good try!

I'm not a fan of unagi (I only eat anago in Singapore), but this was so delicious I'd go again! This is charcoal grilled unagi bowls, and comes into different sizes. We ordered the 2/3 cut bowls, and it was just nice for us. Menu at tenjinbashi can be found here. As usual, me and my mum ordered grat...ed wild yam to share. Yummy!! The seats for the restaurant are on the second floor, and there's no high chairs available. Hence it may a little inconvenient for families with young kids.
