“Worst eating experience we had during our 3 weeks in Japan”
Not a foreign friendly restaurant even if they pretend to be. Waiters didnt want to take order and when we finally got our food, it was 99.9 % chicken bones and not any meat to eat. We had to go get them while they were chatting in the kitchen because they didnt give us chop sticks. Japanese custome...rs Got amazing service though.

“Go here. ”
Best place we went to in Kyoto. Service was great, our waitress reserved a table for us for an hours time, and went through the ordering procedure with us in really good English. It was all you can eat, all you can drink, loads of different meats and veg and you just keep ordering more on a little i...Pad. Staff were really good and the menu had lots of variety. Would really recommend you go here.

“A night at Gyu Kaku”
Gyu kaku is a Yakiniku chain in many Japanese cities .. they let you grill the meat yourself in a style known as Korean Barbecue. We had the all you can eat in 70 minutes menu and you can add an all you can drink as well. They have beef, chicken and pork .. we just had the beef though and it was ver...y good for the price they charged, the side dishes were nice and the waiteresses very friendly. We went at 9pm on a Wednesday and just had to wait a few minutes to get a table for 4. The place is highly recommended if you’re looking for a casual place to dine! Enjoy! All you can eat+drink was about 4500~ yen per person ( with a desert )

“Best yakitori and BBQ we had in Kyoto!”
Went out on a limb for a few things here, horse sashimi being one of them. Had kurobuta pork belly, kurobuta pork sausages, beef tongue, Wagyu Spencer roll, horse sashimi, marinated veges (3), special rice. Everything was great, the pork belly was probably the standout, the tongue probably the weake...st although still good. Rice was great, they hype it in the menu but it was very good as far as plain rice goes. Horse sashimi was done in the tartar style with a quail egg yolk. Very good, a little sweet, not overpowering in any way. Complimentary vinegard cabbage as well as pickled cucumber and sweet soy seaweed. Shochu highball with citrus honey is fantastic. Very well priced, service was fantastic. Highly recommended for a great culinary night in Kyoto.

“Sizzling family feast”
Fun little place where you grill your own food. Wanted to try a selection of Japanese beef, so this was a perfect sampler. Also had chicken and six types of vegetables. English menu very helpful. With beer came to under $100 for four. Lively atmosphere and part of the Kyoto street market scene. Good... value and very good for families and party groups.
