We came here at around 4pm and the restaurant was empty so you'd think they would want to look after there only 2 customers. First I tried to order a coke and that was hard, she asked if I wanted it after my meal... usually you order something you want it straight away but she acted like this was so...ooo strange. It was very uncomfortable. Then we tried to order a set menu, there was an eggplant dish but it had a meat sauce and I simply asked for it to be without the sauce which I have done it other places because I'm vegetarian. She said this would be impossible, at first I thought she didn't understand me but she did it was because it was a set menu they couldn't change it.... when literally its just a means of putting on a sauce or not. She ended up shouting at me saying I needed to eat meat but there was nothing I could do and no other veggie options. It was a very horrible experience and compared to every other experience I had in Japan this was shocking!!!!! We left straight away. I was scared she would spit in my food. I hope this restaurant fails...

Don' expect high cuisine, but a typical japanese meal, like you would get it at someones home. In fact, it reminded me of the food my japanese grandma cooked during my exchange year. You also get a big meal for a fair prize. Only the waiter seemed a little stressed. He really needs to chill ;-) he ...kept running around like a madman 日本のおばあちゃんが作った料理みたいな味、利用も多くて、お腹いっぱいになりました。ただウエーターがすごく忙しい気がして、ちょっとゆっくりした方がいいかも。😉

After walking so much around Kyoto I was pretty knackered to find somewhere to eat without a long distance walk. So I thought I'd try to food next door the hotel. It turns out its absolutely amazing with the set meals they have and I got to taste real authentic Japanese dishes with a side dish of th...e famous eggs that I must try. Definitely recommend anyone nearby to try this place.

Hi all, we strolled in and had fast friendly service as soon as we came through the door. Food was good, it's not so westernised and it's nice simple wholesome food.. They also offer English menu and the waiter speaks good English. Will go again...

Ordered 3 sets of meal for dinner. Tonkatsu set, unagi set and tonkatsu udon set. The unagi serving was small and presentation is not nice. The taste is quite bland. Even the most basic rice is dry and tasteless. The worse Japanese rice I had so far. Tonkatsu tasted average. Will not recommend
