“Disappointed customer”
Staying at Imperial Hotel at Osaka as per recommendation of the Concierge on 2nd floor we booked dinner for two at 7:30 at Sasson French restaurant. Upon arrival to the 23rd floor restaurant we were seated. No water nor bread were brought to the table until we asked for it. It took 45 minutes to ...order appetizers and main course due to lack of understanding on the part of the waiter. My wife and I have some food allergies and religious restrictions. We tried very hard to patiently explained to our waiter numerous times all the points of concern. Despite poor English understanding, we thought we finally, after about 45 minutes got him to understand and reconfirm with the chef. My wife got a pork appetizer after it was repeated again and again that we do not eat pork. Another 30 minutes went by before we got our wine order. Once the order was finally understood,our appetizers and main course were perfect. During the main course I had to get up to serve myself the wine, at that time another waiter ran to pour the wine once saw me attempting to do that. When finished our main course, noone came to clean off he white cloth from numerous crumbs, nor were we asked or offered any desserts. We were flatly given the bill and told that they were closing. My wife and I have been to many restaurants in the US and abroad, have been ourselves in hospitality business in past strongly feel that this experience was completely unprofessional and totally not an experience you expect staying at the hotel of this caliber. To say that we are disappointed would be an understatement. Made the management aware to prevent another disappointing customer.
