“Nice grilled chicken”
This is down an atmospheric alley and is a small local bar restaurant. A bit smokey (from the cooking) as you enter and the 80’s American music is a bit loud. There is an English menu but the staff don’t really speak English. We ate a variety of plates. Salad just ok. Sushi ok. Grilled vegetables d...isappointing. Nice grilled whitefish. The family was very happy with the grilled chicken with fries so get that if you come.

“Good eating and drinking, local vibe”
The place is situated conveniently in the picturesque Pontocho area of Kyoto. We went for drinks and snacks on a Saturday evening. It was already quite full, but we got a Japanese style table after only a minute of waiting. The staff was very friendly and attentive. There is an English menu availabl...e, but foreign visitors are even encouraged to learn a few bits of Japanese. The restaurant is very cozy and nicely furnished, even the restrooms are worth seeing. For us as vegan/vegetarian, it was nice that there are a quite a few vegetable dishes on the menu, which also tasted great. The veggies were grilled to the point, nothing was burned and the tempura was delicious. Beer and Chu-Hi was also good. Not the cheapest place, but good value.

“Memorable evening”
Recommended by our hosts as authentic Japanese bar food. Food was delicious and exciting. As it is a bar smoke could bother you if you are sensitive. English menu and pictures helped. Wonderful staff who persuaded us to learn some Japanese.

“Excellent diner, good price”
We have been in Japan since à week now with à family of 6 (4 teenagers who are afraid of tasting food they don't know). So the 4 children took à roast chicken leg with fries. To their opinion, it was very good. We tried the japanese food. We had very good tempura (shrimps, corn, onion), pork and ric...e. We had à "Japanese" table, and sit without shoes on cushions on the floor. The first page of the english menu is about learning japanese. The children liked it. the waiters and maîtresses were very kind. Finally, the qualite/ price was good for us

“Interesting Menu”
Had a very interesting menu with odd items. Tried the stingray and salted cod entrails. Would recommend both for the adventurous eater.
