阪急うめだ本店 TRATTORIA AL POMPIERE

We picked this out after a lovely day celebrating my 50th birthday. After being given a menu and then realising we were English the instruction was to point at the items we wanted, no problem. We ordered 2 starters to share, followed by a pasta dish and a meat dish for main course. 1 starter arri...ved then around 5 mins later the next one did, closely followed by my partners main course pasta which she ate before it went cold. We had to beckon a waiter to ask where my main course was (the added problem here was the waiting staff had little to no grasp of English) and were told to “wait” It eventually arrived but my partner had long finished her main course and I had to in turn eat mine. No apology was offered and even after I had finished no plates were cleared, no desserts, further drinks or coffees offered even though waiters passed our table at least 6/7 times! No bill offered either, it was only when we got up to leave that we had to pay at the bar on exiting. The most shocking part however is that we noticed the tables with the locals on were receiving much better and more attentive service!! Therefore It’s my belief this establishment in Japan’s second city has a respect problem with the English!!
