Restaurant is very dirty (dust everywhere) and the food is bad : sashimis smelled bad and the ramen were tasteless, to say the least. They also serve raw chicken, which is completely absurd as it can be quite dangerous. Besides, they charge you way more than you expect : some cucumber and cabbage as... appetizer you didn’t order + service fee per person and this isn’t written anywhere, only on the receipt and only in Japanese . At the end it doubled the price of our meal and it wasn’t even good. Worst restaurant we went to in Japan, by far ! Don’t go and if you do, do not order raw chicken (for obvious reasons) or sashimis !

They collect table charge at ¥380 per person which is super shocking cos we obviously not known until we settled the bill. ADDITIONALLY we r asked to pay additional 10% on top of government tax 8%. After we pursue the shop told us it’s for dining in this Xmas period!!! Faint!!! Beware. Don’t go!!!!

Noticed this place when we were walking towards the park because it had delicious looking BBQ meats outside. They were fairly busy even late at night but we were eventually led to our table. What was interesting was that you order from an iPad. There was an English menu and the pictures helped but i...t did take a few minutes fiddling around with it to figure out what to do. Of note was the horse and chicken sashimi which was quite interesting. We also had the BBQ chicken which was what drew us to the restaurant in the first place. The food was nice and with the iPad you can keep tabs on how much you've currently spent.

The restaurant has little booths for privacy and an excellent menu-we were given an iPad which had English translations and you order on there. I recommend the whitebait, the gyoza hotpot, the barbecue chicken and some of the other sides, we also had a salad. The gyoza hotpot came with its own boile...r on the table and the chicken was sizzling. Really excellent place thoroughly recommended. About one of the earlier reviews, yes we did get given a cucumber salad, not sure how much they charge just for it but overall the meal was very good and well worth it. Would go again if we were staying in NARA.

First we ordered some drinks and edemame. We also got some cucumber and cabbage with sauce. OK, we realised they obviously are not free, but we never could have guessed that little portion would be so hugely overpriced. Our four own dishes and sake were OK, not even too expensive but that cheating ...with some lousy cucumber and cabbage gave really bad feeling. That kind of rip-off is common e.g. in Spain, but we had never met that kind of action in Japan. Don't go! There are many other restaurants in Nara. Also we have visited good places on our previous visits there.
