There are lots of family restaurants in Japan. This chain is more expensive but has real bakers and chefs who cook the food on-site. I like this chain for its salad bar. It is not a huge salad bar with lots of options but it is good enough to get the necessary vegetables that I crave. You cannot... order the salad bar ala carte, it must be ordered in addition to a main. As for the mains, Volks is famous for its reasonable steaks. We are NOT talking wagyu but USDA steaks. Grilled the way you like. It's pretty good. For smokers, they do have a special smoking room so there is no impact for nonsmokers. I really like this chain. Will be going back.

Helpful and professionel! Not much english thou, but they at least have an english menu. They had a good Chardonnay!!!..

We were staying near here and it was nice to have a break from normal Japanese restaurants as this is more of a steak house. We had to wait about 20 minutes for a table as it was very busy and obviously very popular, so book in advance if you can. It has a system where you are given a numbered tick...et and they shout the number out when it is your number (In Japanese- so you need to keep your ticket on show so the staff can see it and tell you its you!) They have a vast menu with a variety of steaks, beef, burgers,chicken,pork,pasta dishes served to your table or you can add on the buffet option and help yourselves to breads,soup,salads etc. Food was served piping hot on sizzler plates and well presented.It is a large restaurant and nicely furbished and has a separate smoking room which is unusual and great as normally you can smoke in restaurants in Japan. Staff were very pleasant and do try hard with the language barrier with tourists! Very reasonably priced - Three of us ate a main meal and had a drink with it for 6000 Yen.

Stopped here for a bite , had to queue for 20 mins , got seated and an English menu was provided. The waiter did a great job of speaking English and was great , the food was a bit tasteless, the sirloin was dry and not seas ed enough, the potato was dry . The fries were brought before the main so we... eat those while waiting . It's a big chain I believe and mainly large family groups , don't expect the best quality and as it shouts about 28 day aged US beef I was disappointed .

We visited here for evening dinner. Had to queue for approx. 40 minutes till a table was free. Very much a family place, but caters for all ages. Very busy and popular, self service salad bar once you have ordered drinks and main course. Pleasantly surprised at staffs happy demeanour, despite bein...g so busy. Well laid out establishment, corner of intersection with some parking. near to shops and our hotel, so was convenient to use. Bench style tables and seats, very clean and although a little dark with low lit lights it was never the less a worth while visit.. Food was excellent....We had ordered steaks and from the salad bar....very reasonably priced. No pressure to hurry our dinner, Well worth a visit, would use again...
