“Interesting tempura menu ”
Lovely little place with friendly staff who were willing to accommodate our various requests. We ordered the usual tempura items like shrimp and vegetables, and we also got to try some interesting ones that you don’t usually find at regular tempura restaurants - salmon roe & shiso leaf, sea urchin... & seaweed, fish & plum sauce, which were all delicious! Sashimi was good too!

“Lovely place with delicious seasonal tempura”
We enjoyed our Kaiseki dinner at Nijo Takakura Yamamoto - the dishes are delicate and thoughtfully prepared. We had a six course kaiseki meal for 50,000 yen each. Dishes included appetizer, sashimi (best we’ve had in this trip, and we’ve had great sushi), soup, tempura of seasonal vegetables and sea...food, rice, and dessert. Service was very friendly, we would definitely recommend this place!

“Traditional but not too classic, good Japanese dishes and Tempura”
開店してまだ2年と経っていないと聞く、比較的若い板さんの店。天ぷらがメインだが、魚や肉など旬の素材をつまみに、最後は釜飯で締める。この日は鯛めし。 取り立てて目新しさや奇をてらうところはなく、和食を料理人の腕前で食べさせてくれる良い店。それでいて入りにくさはなく、京都初心者でも安心して食事をすることが出来るよう気を配ってくれる。 Tourists can enjoy qualityTempura and Japanese dishes in relaxed air but prabably better reserve your seats since the restaurant does ...not accommodate many guests.

“Wonderful friendly place, wonderful people, wonderful food.”
My wife and i are difficult with food and we were searching for a quiet typical Japanese bar/restaurant where we could be comfortable and enjoy the atmosphere and food and where we had to explain we did not want any meat or fish. And did we find it! The owner/chef and his helpful and considerate ass...istant gave us a warm welcome, and went to great trouble to make sure we only had what we wanted. We had tempura vegetables and sake and they were just perfect. A lovely small bar with great quiet background jazz music and friendly clientele. The owner was just concerned that we had a good time and he and his very thoughtful and kind assistant succeeded. We had a great time and as soon as we could we went back again when it was just as good and we were given an even warmer welcome.
