We stopped here on the way to the Golden Pavilion, very tasty. They had a few English menus that made ordering easier for us.

Delectable freshly made soba noodles with just the right texture, delicate and aromatic broth. Delightfully soothing and refreshing whether you choose the light crisp golden tempura or the sliced duck. Absolutely delicious yuzu koma fiery pepper based dip served with the duck. Novice palates, just ...dip the tip of the chopstick. Impeccable and attentive service. Add the provided sobayu (soba simmering slight starchy water) to the remaining broth after eating the soba for a yummy creamy final touch. Superb and invigorating, perfect before visiting the Kinkakuji pavilion.

We stopped here during a rainy day after visiting the Kinkakuji. We were a bit hesitant yet curious: from the outside you could not see an English menu... As soon as we got inside they provided an English menu without even asking, so that we could see it before seating. We had cold soba with duck an...d an extremely good dipping sauce. At the end of the meal we also had sobayu for our sauce. All of this while we drank a very good soba-cha tea. Friendly staff and good environment

This restaurant has been in operation for 6 months. It is owned by a young couple who cook and serve themselves. It is a very small place, it has room for a maximum of 13 people. From my banquette I had a full view of the tiny kitchen, as it is open to the restaurant. The chef meticulously cut t...he fresh vegetables, and shrimp and prepared the oils and flour for the tempura. He took his time and the result was a feast and the best tempura we ever had! If you want an out of the way place where tourists don't flock and like typical Japanese food this is your place.
