Unaju has been a beloved national dish in Japan since the Edo period, 400 years ago. It is served in a special container called a "jubako."
The eel, grilled using a special method, is crispy on the outside and soft and juicy on the inside. When you pour a slightly sweet, special sauce over it and eat it with rice, the delicious taste of the eel spreads throughout your mouth, and you'll be sure to experience a sense of happiness while eating.
Naruse, a well-known unaju specialty restaurant, boasts the highest number of locations in Japan.
Among them, the Abiko store in Osaka is particularly popular. The traditional Japanese room, featuring tatami mats and tables with sunken kotatsu, offers a very relaxing atmosphere for enjoying your meal.
In addition to beer and sours, we offer a selection of sake, which pairs well with unaju. We focus on the famous sake-producing region of Nada-Gogo (designated as a Japanese heritage site on June 19, 2020), and offer varieties such as junmai sake, ginjo sake, and sparkling sake.
