Very disappointing experience. The service was inattentive and cold — we waited far too long to be acknowledged, and the staff didn’t seem to care. Service was slow, it was not busy only having one other table. The food was overcooked and lacked the freshness and balance you’d expect from a place at... this price point. It’s not cheap, but what you get doesn’t match the cost in quality or care. We were really hoping for a good traditional Japanese meal, but unfortunately, this fell far short. Would not return.

I was looking for a nice place for lunch in this neighborhood, and was intrigued by all the pictures on the website of chicken sashimi. I really want to try chicken sashimi! After reading the reviews here that suggested this place might not be terribly accessible to foreigners, I thought I should ...make the best use I could of my extremely limited Japanese, so I showed up and said "二人." The guy at the door peeked into the dining area, then came back and said some things in which I thought I recognized "じゅっぷん," so we came back in ten minutes and, sure enough, there was an empty table with English menus waiting for us. The menu only listed a few set courses for lunch, so I made my best guess about how to translate 'raw chicken' and asked "生鶏刺身はありますか?" to which the answer sadly was "ない." Maybe it's only a dinner specialty? Or maybe I just don't have enough Japanese to know how to order it? Oh well. We ended up trying two different lunch sets, as well as two kinds of sake to go with it, and everything was very nice. The dining room had a cozy atmosphere, and lovely view of a little rock garden between the window and outer walls.

Japanese Kaiseki breakfast restaurants are available so many place in Kyoto. The restaurant is the best place of center of Kyoto, fantastic hospitality and quality. They also serve lunch and dinner, but I love to go there morning time because so quiet. Reservation recommended. Good to place to e...at before you explore Kyoto city. I already booked next week.

This restaurant has beautiful and traditional Japanese concept. The daily lunch menu is good cost performance and delicious taste. I specially recommended for foreign guests!! 日替わりのランチメニューは、メインの他に小鉢が沢山付いて、コスパ最高です！ 風情のある店構えや、店内の雰囲気もとても良かったです。
