I have been about a dozen times over the past 5 years with friends, family, and colleagues. I started noticing something amiss about two years ago already, but given how much one of my family members likes the views and food, I decided to not to write a review about the relatively poor manners and ...professionalism of some of the senior (e.g. black uniform) staff and servers. Today, I went alone and hoped to be pleasantly surprised... but was, instead, very disappointed. The good aspects of this place is the quality of the food, the views, and the background music. Unfortunately, that does not matter if the service and the drinks are not well attended to. The coffee on this occasion was not the usual morning or lunch time coffee (which was always good), but coffee from a machine which tasted worse than you would get from a convenience store machine. It did not match the beautiful and delicious desert at all... and, in fact, greatly diminished the experience of enjoying that desert. How a place in a high calibre hotel like this can make that kind of error is a mystery. When I asked a young female server, she acknowledged that yes, unfortunately, it was machine coffee. As for the service, I was at first, very pleased when a young male server (foreign national) came with the desert. Superb manners and presentations. Then the disappointment started as another server went around with a coffee pot to offer other customers a refill, but for some reason passing my table by. No one came to check on my in the 45 minutes I was there. Finally, when I moved my empty plate to the edge of the table, one of the senior black uniformed service staff came to take the plate and clear most of the table. He was about to walk away and then rudely and roughly pointed to the table with the word "more" ? The nonverbal manners were deplorable. During my 45 minute visit, I noticed staff attending to other tables proactively and regularly, but avoiding mine. Not a good feeling. The initial seating also left something do be desired. All of the many remaining empty tables were set with invitational grace with napkins and cutlery for new customers to be seated. One was not, and that was the one I was offered. It was also a table that had a column right in front of my obstructing the otherwise beautiful views I had always enjoyed going there. When it was time to leave, the "thank you" felt fake and cursory. Likewise with the person at the register, the proper words were used, but it rang so mechanical and inauthentic. So, this time, having gone there alone, I decided to write a review. I hope to have the opportunity to update and write a better review in the future. The hotel this cafe restaurant is in has a well-deserved reputation for quality and professionalism, and this cafe would do well to be more aligned with that.

You can enjoy good enough meal with good views of Merikenpark even with your toddler. As my toddler often rob my dishes of my food, I asked them to remove certain ingredients. The request was crefully accepted.

Another guest described this restaurant as "spartan" and I agree. It has no ambiance. It gets very busy at breakfast mainly because other guests don't realise there are other options such as the Terrace restaurant overlooking the pool and the buffet in the Japanese Restaurant. The breakfast buffets... were good but the dinner we had there was expensive for what it was and mediocre in flavour. Fairly average but it serves a purpose, and there are few other options close by.

Service is excellent, the food is good, but this restaurant is so bare and spartan that I did not for a second feel well here. A pity!

had coffee there as well as breakfast there. had a plate of fresh mango there which consisted of 4 small slices of unripened mango. whilst unremarkable it was a good place to go.
