“Unusual , good atmosphere local machida no izakaya ”
This real monk who’s bar is next to a large temple knows his whiskies and has a good selection . The local beer on tap is Kyoto brewery made in south Kyoto past the Kyoto station is not something u would cross the road to drink . A good range of local sake and shochu was available . Never ate there ...but from what I saw others eating it looked reasonable . Sukidashi will be given to you whether u want it or not and of course you be charged . Worth going back to even if you only live 100m away .

“The monk who runs a whisky bar”
The whisky bar with the Zen atmosphere. The bar tender is a monk who knows the Japanese whisky very well. There is many special editions of Japanese whisky that you don't want to miss. Remember to call and check if the bar opens !
