“Decent food”
We tried this restaurant because it was close to Shimoda train station. It was raining on the day. Their complementary tiny side dish, marinated squid, was quite tasty. Sashimi was fresh and kinmedai was well cooked. Several elderly ladies were working hard at this restaurant and they were helpful. ...They are not cheap meals, but with good portions and with good quality it is worth the price.

“Kinmedai Restaurant”
Walked into here after checking out the souvenir shop and were pleasantly surprised. Great service, and lovely food. We had the Kinmedai feast seadt which was meticulously prepared and delicious. Check it out!

“BEWARE !!”
SHOP-OF-HORRORS !! Fish is days and days old. Service staff just smile and nod but will NOT taste their own fish, when offered. Look at the photo(attached) and see how the fish eye is cloudy and the flesh is grey-colored. NASTY ---!---

“excellent kinmedai”
we went there attracted from the big fish(kinmedai) in the sign of the shop, once inside we chosen to eat a whole kinmedai stuffed in a soy sauce, we waited a little bit but the taste was great and also if expensive it worth the price.
