“Huge selection of live fishes and best service ever!”
It is a painstaking task to find a venue for dinner in Japan around the New Year's eve. We were walking around the Nagoya train station and trying to figuring out where and what to eat. We stumbled across the shop front of Kaburaya and decided to walk in to make a reservation for New Year's Eve. To ...our surprise, it is open for NYE and they accepted our booking. Upon arrival and we were seated near the sushi bar area which we could observe the operations and preparation of food. A very kind waitress escorted my friend to pick the live fishes from the tank and gave very good suggestions. We took her advice and ordered away. They turned out to be excellent and very reasonable in terms of pricing. The hot dishes are a bit hit and miss. The most interesting hot dish would be the fried eel bones and I also liked their potato salad (comfort food). The staff are very kind and very friendly. The supervisor (lady in blue t-shirt) speaks English and made good recommendation and explanation. We were so impressed that we visited this place 2 counts for our 6 days in Nagoya. Bravo to chef and the team at Kaburaya!
