First thing hopped off the bullet train and saw a queue in front of the restaurant of the outlet (restaurants just open for business). Recommended to try as delicious as the restaurant live up to reputation and worth the time to wait in line.

We had a late lunch here after an exhausting shopping day at the outlet. The donkatsu here is not something that would be considered typical. It's very different. Nevertheless, I really like it a lot. The beef soba was not as good and I realized I am not a big fan of buckwheat noodles in hot sou...p.

Komagane city in Japan is famous for their Katsu-Don. Unlike Katsu-Don in Tokyo, these area's Katsu-Don is sauce based. Meiji-tei is famous for their Katsu-Don and they have a few shops here and there but not many. Their Karuizawa branch is relatively not crowded. Not very cheap but worth a try.

located near the JR station, along aji no machi, these restaurants are still open after the outlet malls closes at 8pm. tonkatsu are served in huge portions, so its better to share. tender and juicy, immersed in their special sauce, the pork cutlet is very tasty! (but slightly salty)

We were there for dinner and ordered 3 sets (see pictures) and I ate the katsu that came with one of the sets. Tender and juicy, best katsu I've had on this trip so far. The size of the sets are generous so check out your surrounding tables before ordering if you're not very hungry. The staff that... served us spoke English ok. I would go back again if I visit again.
