This hidden gem was truly a great find! The Hida Beef stew was cooked to perfection with melt in your mouth beef. We also got the Hida Beef set which was super worth it as it came with a beautiful salad, tea & ice cream (vanilla & caramel!). Everything was meticulously made with depth of flavors, ev...en down to the grilled vegetables. Highly recommended!

Fantastic experience. My wife and I sat at the chef’s table. We enjoyed the chateau Briand. The Hilda beef is so tender that it melted in your mouth. It was served with a wonderful salad consisting of multiple vegetables. We drank a Bordeaux wine. Service was superb. This restaurant is one of the be...st that we experienced during our 2 weeks in Japan.

We had one of the best dinners at this place. The chef-owner was so proud and his food was not only delicious, but the presentation was amazing. If you ever visit Takayama, make sure you pay them a visit. Well worth it. The bread was homemade and excellent. The beef was amazing, and the service was ...first-class.

This was, without a doubt, the best meal we have experienced in Japan and the steak is probably the finest I have ever had in my life. This lovely, small, and friendly restaurant will serve you beautiful food that is perfectly prepared. Yes it is a bit of a splurge but we felt it was excellent value.... If you are looking for a boisterous place to eat a big chunk of meat and get stuffed to the gills, find a different place. If you want a fine Japanese steak meal in a low key environment this is the place. We opted for the fixed price menu and started with a beautiful salad that included small shrimp and quail eggs (tell the staff if you have a dietary restriction as ingredients are not all listed or self evident). We then had our amazing steaks accompanied with a variety of small vegetable tastes. Finally we were served the most incredible almond sorbet - it was fantastic. They have other fixed menus with additional items as well, but the basic one was plenty for us. Honestly do not miss this restaurant!
