“Pretty Good Tororo and Pork Cutlet Tonkatsu. Hope to Try Nabe Sometime”
As I was exploring the Tama Center area, including the COCOLIA Tama Centre, I noticed this restaurant on—I think it was the 5th or 6th floor (whichever one had the food court) that offered nabe options. Unfortunately, when I got seated, I noticed that the food I wanted was out of stock, which was... really unfortunate. Thankfully, I think this restaurant is pretty good otherwise. This is one of those sit-down restaurants where you still have to order through a QR code, and you have a bunch of options—from different types of katsu to different types of soup and even sashimi and sushi. However, it seems like they specialize in tororo (grated yam) that they serve with basically all their meals. I decided to just get a tonkatsu (pork cutlet) set with miso soup, and thankfully it was actually really good—nice and juicy center with a crispy outside. I found out that apparently the best way to mix the tororo is with your rice, and I think that made the rice really good. I can see why this restaurant forces you to have tororo with your rice. Speaking of rice, I like that this spot has a way to refill your own rice—as someone who likes to eat a lot of rice as a side with my main meal. Overall, while it was unfortunate that I wasn't able to try the nabe, I did like the spot enough—maybe I'll try to come back and hope that nabe is actually available next time.
