We were staying around the corner and found this friendly place by accident. We went three times during our 16 day stay in Tokyo. The staff speak limited English but enough for you to feel comfortable. There is an English menu, but it is not comprehensive, so if you see things that are being served ...to others, ask for those. So just choose a couple of courses then wait and see. We sat at the bar each time as we were just a couple. They reserve the few tables for larger groups. The clientele is local, they have fun with the chefs, the younger one of the two has good English comprehension if you engage with him. Very good value and very typical Japanese food. The chicken with citrus was fabulous, as are all the vegetables they grill. Ask for sashimi, it's not on the English menu, but beware whale is one selection, so we asked for that to be taken off our plate.

This place is mostly used by local Japanese people. The food is very good and really cheap. If you want to have an authentic experience with good food I will recommend this place. My sister thinks this is the best place we have tried in Japan in the last 3 weeks.

Based on a good review, we try to get a table on a weekday evening for dinner. This small restaurant only have a few and a counter and was fully packed. Fortunatly the staff managed to give us a corner on the counter. All other clients were Japanese and seems to be regulars. Thankfully they have a ...menu in English and the staff can speak a bit of English. We ordered chisken balls with cheese, grilled fatty salmon and rice, and a big whole oignon. Another special dish is rice balls but we didn’t try. All dishes are prepared on a charcoal grill. The staff is super friendly and make you feeling good even if you are foreigners. The cook was very funny, pulling a face when I did a selfie of us. So funny !
