“Excellent Yakiniku in A Quaint Restaurant”
This is a cute little yakiniku place in Akasaka just a little off the main drag of Roppongi avenue. A colleague had recommended it (it’s also close to my house), so I decided to give it a try. The menu has your typical yakiniku fare for the most part, although don’t expect more Korean style bulgogi... and calbi. Rather, the menu is a simple list of premium cuts of meat and side dishes. We ordered the chef’s recommendation of 5 cuts of “red” meat (no innards or tongue), as well as a la carte selections of the pork set (normally it’s Korean style pork belly, but they were out of it so it was a tasty pork job instead), “10 second” premium thin slice beef, “wasabi” calbi, and a rump cut. In addition we had some kimchi side dishes and delicious Korean seaweed with sesame oil. Our server was super attentive and friendly, and took time to answer all of our questions. The restaurant is small, and while I don’t think a reservation is absolutely required, you probably want to consider it just in case as the place can fill up quickly. Prices are very reasonable, although portions are not huge, and the kimchi is not all you can eat, so if you are someone who likes to eat a lot kimchi, be aware that it is a per order charge and they are small orders. I definitely recommend this place especially if you’re in the Akasaka/Tameike Sanno area, and are craving yakiniku in a quaint package. Also, I really enjoyed the charcoal grills that are placed at each table to grill the meat – the perfect temperature for grilling your beat to your preferred taste. For two people we spent about $115 (17000 yen) with drinks, really not too bad, and we ordered more than other tables in terms of meat quantity. One note, while the menu is partially in English, it is def not a restaurant geared towards tourists and foreigners, I speak Japanese so we had no problem navigating the menu and communicating with the restaurant.

“Excellent yakiniku”
Had stayed at a nearby hotel during visits over the past few years but had never known about this restaurant. Chanced upon it on TripAdvisor and decided to give it a try. A small cosy restaurant, there was only another table filled when my friend and I arrived at about 8pm. We were wondering if th...e food would be good given the small crowd. But over the next hour, the tables gradually filled up; and as we bbq the meats, the aroma filled the place as well. Thoroughly enjoyed the meats, highly recommended the platter of 5 meat cuts. They were flavourful and the texture different. The veggies were also fresh and crunchy. Definitely a place I would come back again next time.

“Love their lunch set!”
I've eaten at this restaurant three times because I love their set lunch menu. Make sure to arrive early (around 11:30 am, if possible because it does fill up) and you will have to wait. I have eaten at other yakiniku restaurants in the area and would say you get the largest portion for the most rea...sonable price. The restaurant does not have an English menu, but they will show you the dinner menu and point out what cuts of meat come with each set if you ask. They are very welcoming to foreigners and I would recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a hidden bargain.

“Killer local yakinuku restaurant”
My wife and I are new residents to the neighborhood and decided to try Janka for lunch as we had previously seen customers lining up during lunch hour. We were not disappointed! She ordered the grilled beef bowl and I got the pork. Both were teishoku (lunch sets) that included a salad and soup for 1...000 yen (almost $10) each. If you are familiar with Korean style BBQ, then Janka will knock your socks off!
