“Izakaya Near Train Station”
Got very good rating in TripAdvisor and near Niigata Train Station, specialized in seafoods with many dishes to choose from. We ordered sashimi, some beef and varieties of seafoods, no outstanding dish worth mentioning.

“A good seafood restaurant close to the Niigata station ”
The place is next to the station, so if the weather is not good, or you just want to chill out in the afternoon and eat some fresh sushi, sashimi, or nabe, just go here. The only problem there was a minor difficulty because we can’t understand since they speak in Japanese only (except for a few). We... ordered the sushi set and eat-and-compare sea urchin. It was absolutely delicious and fresh!

“Fantastic seafood izakaya!”
One of the best Izakayas we've been to in Japan, it's quite big so one can try to turn up without prior reservation (which was our case, waited approx. 10 mn). The seafood was very fresh and excellently prepared. The "sake sampler" allowed us to taste some of the best sakes of the area (famous for ...the high-quality of the local rice and water). if you can, try to secure some of the few counter seats, we were lucky to be able to sit there and the cooks had great conversation - though I cannot guarantee that they can speak English, at least one can enjoy the show of the food preparation ;) .

“The most famous”
Several people told it was the most famous and best fish restaurant in Niigata and I believe it. This is a Japanese food experience you shouldn't miss.
