Marugame is a streamlined udon experience. Even when the line is out the door, the service is quick and accurate. The menu is relatively small with three size choices for each type of udon on the menu. After receiving your udon, you stroll down the udon production line where you have the opportun...ity to supplement your udon with tempura vegetables and seafood which are constantly being freshened by an employee. I've never had stale tempura. The noodles have just the right amount of give in them so when you are chewing them, you get that lovely influx of flavor mixed with the starchy goodness of the noodle and whatever flavors you've decided to add. There is a self-service tea and water station as well as a toppings bar to garnish your udon order: green onions, tempura crumbs, and slightly spicy mustard. There is ample seating for couples style or larger tables for family gatherings and parties. The first of the month is 1/2 price on bukkake udon, the simplest variety, but the lines will definitely be out the door on that day, so try to come a little outside of regular dining hours to cut down your wait time.
