The food is absolutely delicious with fresh ingredients. Before I get my set meal, there is free flow dashi soup to prepare you for the main course. Best to go for the set meal; value for money. Service is great & polite, reflective of Japanese service. Must go!

It was between the busy lunch and dinner hours. Waiting for my train I went up for a snack and drink. Great service.

When we finally made up our mind to try this restaurant it was already past seven in the evening. Fortunately we did not have to wait for too long for a table. Food was reasonably priced and was quite good. I show a Japanese translation of "wanting less rice" to the waitress and she seemed to und...erstand. However when the food came, portion of rice was still a standard quantity.

The pork dishes including the hot plates and crumbed fillets were lovely. Combined with the small side dishes, rice and miso it was a pleasant meal. They also use green tea powder, which you put into your cup and then top up with hot water to dissolve. We bought a pack of this at the cashier. Mino...r point - they were understaffed which meant lots of dirty dishes not cleared in a timely manner.

We noticed that there was a queue outside, which is always a good sign, so we joined it, and soon were eating the most delightful rice bowl dishes. The ingredients - raw fish, steamed rice, dashi/miso broth and all sorts of pickled trimmings - were all extremely good quality indeed, and the fun of m...ixing bits and pieces in a little bowl and eating it was great fun. Our waitress was more than happy to talk us through the menu in good English, and the bill, including a couple of beers, was very reasonable indeed. And yes, we liked it so much, we went back again next night!
