“Treated differently for wanting an English menu”
My husband and I chose this restaurant because of the pictured menu outside. When we got upstairs to the restaurant, we asked for an English menu. The lovely sweet server brought us a limited hand written piece of paper in English. It wasn’t the same as on the billboard, so we asked for the Japanese... menu to point out the dish. She came back very apologetic and said her boss said we couldn’t have it. I had wanted specifically a dish on the billboard, we asked to see the manager. After a few minutes she came back with a Japanese menu, again very apologetic that we were being treated differently. We ordered drinks, salad, focaccia bread, I had the pasta and my husband a steak. The food was very good, the server was amazing, she made the dinner. We were told ahead of time that the steak would take 40 minutes so we were prepared, not sure why? Overall a good experience except the owner/manager staring at us and initially with the menu issue. It’s pricey and not a ton of food but we were prepared for that.

“Disappointing”
This is not a restaurant for tourists. I was poured the smallest glass of white wine that I have ever had, thought it could be a taster but no, this was my wine. Husband’s beer was also small. Caesar salad was odd, broccoli, flaked almonds and minimal Parmesan. Carbonara was tiny and over peppered..., not a proper serving as this was styled as a main not a primi.

“Wonderful Italian food”
We felt like something other than Japanese food after being here for 2 weeks. This place we could walk to from our hotel which was 101 hotel Kanazawa which was the most amazing place.,Like a private bandb. Everyone spoke English and our waitress was very friendly and chatty. The food was amazing- w...e had Caesar salad made with spring mix Different but good. Then I had snow crab pasta with tomato cream sauce which was delicious. My husband had shrimp pasta which he loved. Then we had burnt Basque cheesecake with pistachios which was wonderful. We were definitely full after this great meal.
